We celebrated Jacob's golden year a couple weeks ago. One thing must be said: I love birthdays. They are my favorite holiday. Your personal holiday. And I love giving good birthday.
I was so excited the night before that I had a hard time sleeping. I woke up early to decorate his car and make breakfast. It is birthday tradition to wear an embarrassing hat for your whole birthday. I, of course, enforced this rule.
My favorite part of the birthday prep was putting all of Jacob's presents into a scavenger hunt, found using rhyming clues. He reacted exactly how I planned- it was perfect. He was running so fast through the house to find all of the presents; it was hilarious.
The party moved to Nickelcade. Yes, Nickelcade. Who would've guessed we would have so much fun with $5 in nickels. I could have played PacMan the whole time. I felt like a one-armed bandit.
The birthday events ended by sending Jacob and Jared on a man-date to the BYU vs Colorado State game. They won. The boys are happy.
Jacob and Jared (best friends for years) have close birthdays so we went to Tucanos to celebrate earlier this month. Work that tambourine.
I love love love love birthdays.
