It becomes more than just sustenance, but a way of life.
One of my favorite experiences was learning about Thai food at Thai Farm Cooking School.
$30 for 5 courses.
Yep, Thailand is awesome.
A sampling of our goods.
I'm getting ahead of myself.
Before we made the delicious nectar of Thai coconut soup, we learned the basics with a market tour (fantastic way to see how the chaos of it all works) and a garden tour (to learn where all of our fresh ingredients came from).
The market was a hoot.
Rice of every color, dragon fruit for days.
Did you know Thailand has pink eggs?!
Our guide and instructor Pern.
She was a nut with inappropriate jokes but some mean cooking skills.
And so we made curry, stir fry, soup, noodles and dessert at our individual stations.
I have decided that a wok is an absolute necessity in my life.
Aprons mandatory, hats optional.
Cooking schools dot the map in Chiang Mai.
But we wholeheartedly recommend Thai Farm Cooking School.
So do it.
Because we all know that the best thing about traveling is stuffing your face.
